Irish Weather Expert Predicts a Heatwave for Ireland in 10 Days

An Irish weather expert, Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather, has revealed that Ireland could be in for a major heatwave in the coming days. O’Reilly explained that high pressure is expected to engulf the country, leading to soaring temperatures. However, he also cautioned that there is still some uncertainty surrounding the long-range forecast.

Today, Dubliners can look forward to a bright day with plenty of sunny spells. While a few showers are expected to develop in the afternoon and evening, temperatures will reach around 20 to 21 degrees. Tonight will mostly be dry, although there may be a few isolated showers. Patches of mist and fog are expected to form overnight, with temperatures dropping to lows of 10 to 12 degrees.

Tomorrow, any mist or fog will clear, giving way to another bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers, mainly in the afternoon. The highest temperatures will range between 19 and 20 degrees. While there is no further forecast specifically for Dublin, the national outlook provides some insight into the weather for the rest of the country.

According to a Met Eireann forecaster, Wednesday night will be largely dry with clear spells. There is a possibility of patches of mist or fog forming, and temperatures will range from 10 to 14 degrees. Light east to southeast breezes can be expected.

Thursday is expected to be mainly dry with sunny spells that may turn hazy as the day progresses. There is a chance of a few showers, and cloud cover will increase from the southwest later in the day. The highest temperatures will range from 19 to 23 degrees, with southeast breezes becoming moderate during the afternoon.

Moving into Thursday night, rain is expected to develop in the southwest and spread northeastwards across much of the country overnight. Friday will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of showery rain. Towards the evening, heavier rain will develop in the south and spread northwards, potentially leading to spot flooding. The rain will clear during Friday night. Temperatures on Friday will range from 17 to 22 degrees, accompanied by moderate to fresh east to southeast winds.
