Dublin’s Drenched Deluge: Met Eireann’s Warning of Torrential Rain and Thunderstorms in Weekend Washout

Met Eireann has predicted a wet weekend ahead for Ireland, with heavy and thundery showers expected over the coming days. Despite this, Dublin can expect some stretches of sunshine today, with only a few passing showers. Temperatures will reach a high of 17 to 19 degrees, accompanied by moderate westerly breezes. Tomorrow, the capital will experience a mix of sunshine and showers, some of which may be heavy and accompanied by thunder. Maximum temperatures will range from 16 to 19 degrees, with fresh and gusty northwest winds, particularly strong along the northwest coast.

According to Met Eireann’s National Outlook, Saturday will see a mixture of sunny spells and showers, with the possibility of some showers becoming heavy and thundery in the afternoon. It will be a fresh and breezy day, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 19 degrees in fresh northwest winds. Saturday night will see cloud thickening from the Atlantic, leading to persistent rain in most areas by Sunday morning. Lowest temperatures will range from 10 to 12 degrees, accompanied by a moderate westerly breeze.

On Sunday, the rain and drizzle will clear eastwards into the Irish Sea in the morning, giving way to a day of sunshine and scattered showers in the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperatures on Sunday will range from 16 to 20 degrees, with a fresh northwest breeze. Sunday night will see a few showers, but overall, dry weather is expected. Lowest temperatures will range from 10 to 13 degrees, accompanied by a moderate northwest breeze.

Monday is expected to be mostly dry, with sunny spells and only a few passing showers. The highest temperatures will range from 17 to 21 degrees, accompanied by a light westerly breeze.
