Cork-based company Unispace Life Sciences, formerly known as Biopharma Engineering, has recently acquired Bulb, a laboratory and office fit-out specialist based in the UK, in a multi-million euro deal. Following the acquisition, Bulb will operate under the name ‘Unispace Life Sciences’ as part of the Unispace Group. This acquisition further strengthens Unispace’s presence in the life sciences sector in the UK and Ireland, and the company is expected to continue expanding over the next two years.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Reading, UK, Bulb specializes in designing and constructing working environments for the life sciences industry. Their services include the creation of R&D facilities, laboratory spaces, production facilities, and corporate offices. With a turnover of over £30 million last year, Bulb has worked with leading multinationals such as Kadans Science Partners and Advanced Research Clusters (ARC).
The acquisition of Bulb is the latest addition to Unispace’s growing portfolio, following the purchase of Biopharma Engineering, a Cork-based firm, in January 2022. John O’Reilly, the CEO of Unispace Life Sciences, expressed his excitement about welcoming Bulb to their expanding life sciences segment.
