Unexpected Chaos Looms: Dart Service Suspended After Tragic Incident

DART services have been suspended between Portmarnock and Malahide in north Dublin this afternoon due to a “fatal incident” on the line. Irish Rail has advised passengers of the disruption and has stated that significant delays are expected. GardaΓ and emergency services are currently at the scene.

As a result of the incident, Dublin Bus is accepting rail tickets in the affected area. However, DART services will still operate to and from Clongriffin. The closure of the northern section of the line has also impacted the 13.20 Connolly to Belfast service, which is currently stopped in Portmarnock. Additionally, the 13.40 Drogheda to Connolly service will terminate in Malahide. The 13:50 Connolly to Drogheda service will not operate from Connolly and will instead depart at 14:07 from Malahide to Drogheda. Furthermore, the 14:50 service from Drogheda to Bray has been cancelled, and the 15:20 Connolly to Belfast service will involve a bus transfer to Drogheda.

Irish Rail has stated that the line will remain closed until further notice. This incident follows another disruption on the line between Dalkey and Bray yesterday morning, which resulted in services being suspended for an hour. Further updates on the situation will be provided as they become available.
