Status Yellow Weather Warning Issued for Ireland
A Status Yellow weather warning has been issued for Ireland due to heavy rain, which could lead to localised flooding, poor visibility, and dangerous travelling conditions. The warning, issued by Met Eireann, will be in place until 7pm tonight. According to a forecaster from Met Eireann, “Spells of heavy rain [are expected] on Friday. Blustery conditions are also expected, particularly on the south and east coasts.”
Separate Rain Warning for Donegal
In addition to the nationwide weather warning, a separate rain warning has been issued specifically for Donegal. This warning will be valid from 12pm today until midnight on Saturday. The forecast for today predicts cloudy and wet conditions, with bands of rain moving across the country in the morning, increasing the risk of localised flooding. In the afternoon, the rain will clear, but isolated showers are expected, which may be heavy and possibly thundery at times.
Weather Outlook for Tonight and Tomorrow
Fresh and gusty easterly winds will change to southwesterly this afternoon. The highest temperatures today will range from 16 to 19 degrees Celsius. Tonight, more showers are expected, along with cloudy and blustery weather. However, as the showers die out, clear and dry spells will emerge. The temperatures will drop to lows of 11 to 13 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow will be another blustery day with scattered showers, some of which may be heavy. The highest temperatures will range from 16 to 19 degrees Celsius. The forecast for Dublin is not available at this time, but the national outlook for the weekend is as follows:
Saturday Night Forecast
Saturday night will be wet and windy across the country. Widespread showers are expected, with some being heavy and possibly thundery in the south. It will be breezy, with fresh to strong west to northwest winds. Overnight temperatures will range from 9 to 12 degrees Celsius.
Sunday Forecast
Sunday will continue to be wet and rather windy, with showers continuing to move across the country. Some of these showers may be heavy and thundery during the afternoon and evening. The wind will be moderate to fresh, blowing from the west, and the highest temperatures will range from 15 to 19 degrees Celsius.
