Hot on the Horizon: Met Eireann Reveals the Date Dublin’s Summer Heatwave Will Make a Comeback

Date:

Rainy Weather Ahead for Dublin, but Summer Temperatures on the Horizon

Don’t put away those raincoats just yet as the rain is showing no signs of letting up. Met Eireann has forecasted further showers and thunderstorms for Dublin with plummeting temperatures. However, the national forecaster has revealed that summer temperatures will be making a return this week. The mercury is set to rise to the low 20s towards the end of the week.

Today will start off with sunny spells and frequent heavy showers in the morning. Some of the showers may merge into long spells of rain. There is a chance of isolated thunderstorms that could occur with very heavy falls during the afternoon. Temperatures will be around 16 to 18 degrees.

Tonight will be largely dry with clear spells and the chance of an isolated shower or two. The lowest temperatures will be around 8 to 10 degrees.

Tomorrow will see more showers and sunny spells with some showers turning heavy but not as heavy as in the previous days. The highest temperatures will be around 17 to 18 degrees.

Wednesday night A Met Eireann forecaster said: “A few isolated light showers will linger overnight and there will be a mix of cloud and clear spells, however more persistent rain will edge into the west by morning. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees in Light to moderate southerly winds, freshening by morning.

Thursday “Mostly cloudy with just a few hazy bright spells in the east during the morning. Outbreaks of rain in the west will turn heavy and persistent at times, while patchy outbreaks of rain will gradually spread east later in the day. “South to southeast winds freshening too and increasing strong near the west coast. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees, warmest in the east.

Thursday night “Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heaviest in the west. Mild and close with lowest temperatures generally not falling below 13 to 16 degrees.

Friday “There is more uncertainty for Friday; however, currently, it looks as if the west will see heavy or thundery showery outbreaks of rain continue, with drier brighter conditions in the east, however, there is still the potential for showery rain to spread further east also. “It will be a warm and humid day with highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees in moderate to fresh southeast winds.”

Despite the gloomy forecast, Dubliners can look forward to a return of summer temperatures later in the week. So, keep those raincoats handy, but don’t forget to pack your sunglasses as well. Stay tuned for the latest weather updates from Met Eireann.
