Delays are being experienced in both directions of the M50 motorway as heavy rain and strong winds hit the area. The inclement weather has led to poor driving conditions throughout the city, with spot flooding, reduced visibility, and wet roads causing hazards for motorists. As a result, drivers are advised to exercise caution.
The southbound section of the M50 is currently experiencing the most congestion, with significant delays occurring between the Tallaght and Castleknock junctions. Heading in the opposite direction, there are also delays between the Ballymun and Finglas junctions. The city centre is also heavily affected, with congestion reported at the usual trouble spots, including Church Street, the quays, Patrick Street, and along the Grand Canal.
According to the Tom Tom Traffic Index, it currently takes an average of 20 minutes to travel just 10 kilometers in the city. The index also indicates that there are a staggering 145 traffic jams at present. To stay informed about the latest traffic news, Dublin Live encourages readers to follow their dedicated blog.
