The national forecaster, Met Eireann, has warned that heavy showers and a chance of thunder are expected in the afternoon today. While the morning will see a mix of sunny spells and isolated showers, the weather is expected to take a turn for the worse later in the day. Temperatures are expected to be relatively warm, up to 16 or 17 degrees in a light southerly breeze. Showers will die out early tonight, leaving dry and partly cloudy conditions for the rest of the night. Patches of mist and fog will form in light southerly or variable breezes. Lowest temperatures of 10 or 11 degrees are expected.
Those with pollen allergies have also been warned that the pollen count will be high this weekend. Tomorrow is expected to be mostly dry with sunny spells, and temperatures could reach up to 18 degrees with a light to moderate southerly breeze. It will become cloudier in the evening, with patches of drizzle possible.
According to the national forecast, Monday morning will be cloudy with scattered rain and drizzle. This will clear to sunny spells and scattered showers for the afternoon and evening, with some heavy and thundery showers possible. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees, warmest in the east, are expected in a light to moderate south to southwest breeze. Showers will become less widespread on Monday night, mainly affecting western areas. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees are expected in a light southwesterly breeze.
Tuesday will see sunny spells and scattered showers at first, becoming cloudier later in the day with more persistent rain moving into the west. Highest temperatures will be 12 to 15 degrees in a moderate westerly wind. Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain extending eastwards. Evening temperatures could drop to 7 degrees with a light to moderate southwest to west wind.
On Wednesday, there will be a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Temperatures could reach 12 to 15 degrees in a moderate westerly breeze. The weather is expected to stay unsettled for the rest of the week and the weekend, with showers and spells of rain.
