From Dull to Delightful: My Garden Makeover with Pocket-friendly Poundland and Morrisons Finds!

"Budget-Friendly Garden Makeover Inspiration Goes Viral on TikTok with Kelly Rowland's Stunning Outdoor Space"

Summer is just around the corner and with it comes the desire to spruce up the garden without breaking the bank. One TikTok user, Kelly Rowland, has shared her stunning outdoor space and revealed how she transformed it for next to nothing. When one user asked how much it cost, Kelly took to her TikTok account, @houseatnumber30, to share a clip with a full breakdown of what she got to create the garden of her dreams. She revealed that it cost around £300, but it’s worth noting that she did it all three years prior. With the cost of living crisis ever present today, it could cost more if a viewer decided to take the same steps as her.

Kelly bought 20 planters from Poundland for £1 each, which was enough to have some spares. She then used recycled timber from a previous project for the frame. To create the wooden stand for the pots, she bought seven packs of 10 Sawn Kiln Dried timber from Wickes for £24. She told viewers that today they cost £28.88. Kelly then went to Morrisons to pick up plants, each of which cost her just £5. She split them down to make more and showed them all planted into the pots with soil she used from the garden alongside some feed.

Originally, Kelly coated the wooden stand in linseed oil, but it didn’t seem to protect it. So, she then coated it in V33 high protection stain, which cost her £36. She explained that the project was done during lockdown nearly three years ago, so timber could have been sourced locally, but it was easier to go to the big DIY stores due to lockdown rules. Kelly showed off the finished look and shared that it’s now three years old and still looking good.

Many people were left impressed by the garden makeover and took to the comments to share their thoughts. One person shared, “Looks lush I’m gonna nap this idea,” while another said it “looks amazing.” A third person wrote, “This is fabulous, Kelly! What a brilliant make,” with three clapping hand emojis. A fourth person said, “Looks so beautiful thank you for sharing,” and a fifth added, “I’m going to attempt this this summer.”

Kelly’s garden transformation is proof that with a little creativity and resourcefulness, it’s possible to create a beautiful outdoor space on a budget. By using recycled materials and buying items from discount stores, she was able to keep costs low without sacrificing style. As the weather warms up, many people will be looking for ways to enjoy their gardens, and Kelly’s tips are sure to inspire many to get creative and transform their own outdoor spaces.
