Summer is just around the corner, and with the warmer weather comes the desire to spend more time outdoors. If you’re looking for inspiration to spruce up your garden, look no further than Louisa Grace. Her new build garden may have looked a bit drab and boring when she first moved in, but by the following summer, it was transformed into her English garden of dreams.
Before Louisa got to work on her garden, it was pretty generic, with a large patch of grass and a small patio area. However, she had bigger plans for the space and decided to create a dreamy English cottage style courtyard with plenty of flowers and posh garden furniture. Louisa covered most of the grassy area to extend the patio, making more room for planters and a mix of tables and chairs ready for summer garden parties.
The picnic style table added the perfect classic touch, while the corner sofa made it just modern enough. Louisa also added plenty of lights to the new garden, including string lights around the pergola and solar-powered lights in some of the flower beds, which ended up looking very posh. But it was really the small touches that made the biggest difference – a small wooden birdhouse on the fence, an outdoor clock, pillows and blankets ready to use on the patio furniture, and a few candles for added ambience.
One of Louisa’s goals when transforming the garden was to make it low-maintenance and private, which she achieved with a few simple changes. After sharing the before and after videos on TikTok, Louisa said: “I love an English cottage courtyard garden and wanted to create something inspired by that! Everything we did ourselves, and I can’t wait to see the garden come to life this summer.”
Louisa’s DIY transformation has impressed fellow gardening fans, with many inspired to update their own outdoor space. One commenter said, “This is so beautiful, I’d love to remove a large portion of my grass and add plants and flowers this way.” Another agreed, “I need a shopping list of everything in your garden!” While someone else said, “Even though a lot of grass was taken away, I like how you replaced it with lots of plants and flowers, so good for nature.”
Louisa’s garden transformation is proof that with a little creativity and hard work, you can turn a bland outdoor space into a stunning oasis.
