The Irish government has not received any collective redundancy notification from Microsoft regarding potential job losses, the Department of Enterprise has confirmed. This news comes after reports of potential redundancies at Microsoft’s Dublin offices emerged earlier this week.
On Tuesday, reports surfaced that Microsoft was planning to reduce its workforce by up to 3,000 people worldwide in an effort to “streamline” operations and improve efficiency. The company has yet to confirm these plans or provide details on which markets could be affected. However, sources close to the situation have suggested that the Dublin office, one of Microsoft’s largest sites outside of the US, could see significant job losses as part of the restructuring.

Microsoft declined to comment on the matter when contacted by reporters but noted that it was “constantly evaluating strategies” in order to ensure its products remain competitive on a global scale and continue delivering value for customers. In addition, it said that it would “inform stakeholders” if any changes were made with regards to its workforce in Ireland or elsewhere.
