How To Interpret Body Mass Index Results
BMI results can be interpreted in a number of ways. The most common way to interpret BMI results is by using the BMI categories.
Underweight: If your BMI is less than 18.50, you are considered underweight. This means that you may be at risk for health problems associated with being underweight.
Healthy weight: If your BMI is between 18.50 and 24.99, you are considered a healthy weight. This means that you are not at risk for any health problems associated with being overweight or obese.
Overweight: If your BMI is between 25 and 29.99, you are considered overweight. This means that you may be at risk for health problems associated with being overweight.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of weight based on height and age. It tells you if your bodyweight could be healthy or not by comparing it with an ideal average for adults living in their respective countries/irming areas as determined through statistical data collection methods like interviewing knowledgeable people who know both sides well enough to make this judgement without bias; these individuals will usually belong either specifically ethnic group(s), social class, etc., but may also include others such general health experts like doctors working at hospitals.
The BMI calculation divides an adult’s weight in kilograms by their height squared meters. E.g. BMI of 25 means 25kg/m2.
The formula used is BMI = kg/m2 where ‘kg’ is the person’s weight in kilograms and the m2 is the height in metres squared.

The higher your BMI, the greater risk you take for health problems. But not all conditions are equally likely to develop with a certain weight range – people who maintain an 18-25 score have less chance of developing cancer or heart disease compared those that weigh more than 25 pounds per square inch (PSI).
There is no one “ideal” BMI for all men. However, a healthy BMI for adult men generally falls within the range of 18.5 to 24.9. A BMI of 25 or higher is considered overweight, while a BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese. Being overweight or obese increases your risk for developing numerous health conditions, including heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
To determine your BMI, simply enter your height and weight into an online BMI calculator. Remember that this value is only an estimate, and it does not take into account factors such as muscle mass or body fat percentage. If you are concerned about your weight, be sure to speak with your healthcare provider
There isn’t really a “perfect” BMI for anyone, as everyone’s body is different. However, the ideal BMI for most women is somewhere between 18.5 and 24.9. This range is considered to be a healthy weight for most women of average height. If your BMI falls outside of this range, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are unhealthy, but it could be a sign that you are carrying too much or too little weight for your height. If you are concerned about your weight, or if you have been told by a doctor that you are overweight or obese, try to lose weight gradually by making small changes to your diet and lifestyle.
