Francis Church is located on the north-western corner of Cork city Courthouse and the old Broad Lane Church. The church was built in 1854 and is named after its founder, Francis Church. The church is one of the few remaining Cork city churches that were not demolished during the Reformation. The church has a rectangular nave with a semi-circular chancel. There are two transepts, each with its own altar. The north transept contains the organ, and the south transept contains the statue of their Lady of Lourdes. Built in 1938, this church is if historic interest in the Ballinlough area. The church boasts a tall bell tower that overlooks the area. Architecturally, the building is quite plain and doesn’t really harbour any ornate features. The church is quiet and nice if you want to take a moment in solitude or thought.
